Are you a deep thinker?
Do you have the inclination to want to always go after wisdom by always looking at knowledge, experiences and nature with different perspectives while still being objective in your thought process?
Are you someone who would rather ask questions than offering unnecessary opinions to an ongoing conversation.
If you say Yes to any these, there are chances that you have a good trait of a thinker, lets look further to some other characteristics of a deep thinker:
1. Deep thinkers are open-minded
“A mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work if it is not open.”
Thinkers are known to be open-minded, they understand that their assumptions are their windows on the world and they are always ready to scrub them off every once in a while in other to get the opportunity to receive more knowledge and increase wisdom.
Deep thinkers understand that everyone sees the world differently based on many factors including how and where they are brought up.
2. They like to connect the dots
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” Steve Jobs
Deep thinkers like to think through things, they tend to understand cause and effects, they kind of have gotten a level of understanding about sir Newtown law that says, for every action, there is an equal reaction.
While some might think this to be very annoying about thinkers, always looking reminiscing on the past, this happened to be one of the personalities that makes them less gullible, more understanding about the current situation and sometimes able to predict the future.
3. They love “me time”
“Solitude is very different from a ‘time-out’ from our busy lives. Solitude is the very ground from which community grows. Whenever we pray alone, study, read, write, or simply spend quiet time away from the places where we interact with each other directly, we are potentially opened for a deeper intimacy with each other.” ~ Henri Nouwen
Deep thinkers enjoy solitude, solitude means creativity, it means to revitalize, it’s productivity for deep thinkers.
They always like to spend time alone and with their self.
4. Naturally empathic
“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.” – Alfred Adler.
The natural empathic nature of deep thinkers comes as a result of deep thought about the things of the world that has led to a level of knowledge and understanding about the world around them.
When deep thinkers listen to opinions from cynical minds they don’t get pissed off as most people will do, rather they focus on empathic thinking, like wondering the kind of experience the person has gone through.
5. Often forgetful
It’s easy for things to slip the mind of a deep thinker, we always have our mind engaged in thought process, so it’s much easier for us to be forgetful of the world around us.
6. Obsessed Learners
“LIVE AS IF YOU WERE TO DIE TOMORROW. LEARN AS IF YOU WERE TO LIVE FOREVER.” ―MAHATMA GANDHI
Deep thinkers enjoy learning, they are always obsessed about acquiring knowledge because they understand that in the presence of knowledge there’s the fruitfulness of wisdom.
Do these personalities seem to be all about you, congratulations you are among the Great Deep Thinkers of the world, a set of people the world trust to champion revolutionary change and also make ideas go viral.
